Spread the Love.

When thinking of Valentine's Day, one usually thinks
couples.
boyfriends.
girlfriends.
kissing.
candy.
teddy bears.
cards.
balloons.
hearts.
red && pink.

But when you get real with it all, isn't Valentine's Day ultimately about showing, sharing, and sending love to someone?

I mean does it really have to be a significant other?

Can't it just be your best friend in the whole world that you know you couldn't live a day without speaking to?

Or what about a mom or dad, or even a relative you haven't spoken to in a long time?

So on this day, or even if it is tomorrow, or later on in the week; Do something loving for someone.

Do something loving everyday, for the rest of the week, while thinking about
 the true meaning of love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Make up with someone you have been on bad terms with.

Give a compliment.
Smile at a stranger.
Tell your best friend how much they mean to you.
Pet your puppy that you haven't spent much time with in a while :)
Apologize or ask for forgiveness for something that has been weighing you down.
Say a prayer for someone in need.
Call your grandma and talk to her about her day.
Tell someone you love them.

There is so much more behind Valentine's Day than just roses and smoochy couples.

Everything is what you make it!

So step out of the kissy kissy day.
Make it a day or a week to make a difference in someone's life even if for only a moment;
you never know what kind of impact you could have!

So that's my challenge.
Now go do it :)
Spread some love, baby.
See how rewarding it can be.

To all of you reading this, I love you and hope you had a wonderful Monday <3!

I would love to write much more in this post tonight with all that is on my mind, but there is just no time for that this week. Next week will be wonderful and I will be bursting with posts... I hope :)

For now, this is what I've got today.

So that is that.
If I die today, I would want you to take this challenge.
xo, Jell.

Living in the world, while trying to follow by faith in the Word. Yep: the struggle is real.

In the midst of our chaotic, busy, go-go-go mentality type world that we live in these days, I wanted to take a minute of reflection of some deep rooted pain I’ve been experiencing , and the freedom and wisdom I’ve gained from enduring it . I wanted to take a moment to write about that, and share the growth, strength,  and fruitful blessings that are available  to all of us through the power of The Cross. It’s a fight I’ve been battling through, and I pray someone else may be able to relate while reading this page, and be inspired while leaving it.   Much of my life I have practiced the habit of ignoring God’s signs,  pushes, and plans for my life; of being completely and totally self-indulgent.  I’ve chosen my ways over His time and time and time again. Not because I have any desire to disobey Him; my heart is set on quite literally the opposite. But this world that we live in doesn’t encourage us to walk by faith… to follow “Emmanuel: God with us.” The world ...

Labels.

Labels; they are everywhere. Whether it is in a store, your pantry, or your Google calendar, much of our lives involve labels. Aside from showing the brand on your soup can or notifying you of a meeting on your phone, labels seem to overcome a great part of our existence when it comes to defining ourselves as human beings. They seem to be something that affect our energies, our days, and our happiness, and often in a negative manner. Sometimes they even affect our quality of life when they touch us deep enough. Labels can be just one word: Late. Annoying. Loud. Messy. Weak. Unintelligent. Depressed. Addict. Failure. Or they can be lengthy thoughts: Not good enough. Won’t be able to accomplish that. Always trying and failing. Never going to come back from that. Negative labels are given to us all the time. Maybe you have experienced this recently and it has de-railed a goal you had. Maybe you have experienced this and it made you feel less about yourself. Maybe someone professed a l...

Appreciation April

First good news is that you've almost made it through the month of April, which means Summer is almost here! Second great news is that at the  beginning of May, most people's pools open! Woo hoo! Here's to sharing sunshine and tan lines! :) So this is another goal that's coming at y'all later in the month than planned but I've been on an incredible trip in Colorado and that's what gave me the idea to write. So this month and the goal for this last week leading up to May is Appreciation April! Throughout the course of this month, and focusing on reveling in the little moments and memories of day do day life, I've began practicing trying to appreciate and give thanks for the things I get to experience in life, be it something great or something difficult. The good things are easy to appreciate, though we often don't. Getting the sole opportunity to take off work at my leisure and take a trip to visit friends is something I am appreciative and tha...
