Yesterday, I worked on monologues, read some plays, had time at the gym, and fasted.
I fasted for a church wide pray and fast day and nearly died; literally. But kept my prayers going and ended up makin it through 24 successful hours without eating! I was very proud of myself :).
Note to everyone: if you are fasting, do not go do an intense work out. Not a good idea. The entire Turner Center almost saw me pass out in the middle of the gym yesterday. Ha. It wasn't funny then, but it is now. :)
I came home last night and was planning to have a quiet night in by myself and be a bit of a bum.
However, I decided to have a couple friends over for tea and talk :) Kelly and Christian came and chilled for a little while and then had to leave to go to Wal Mart. Though I was planning to stay in for the evening, they told me to come, so I did, got some groceries, and then they talked me into spending the night with them! We hung out, made nachos and brownie bites at 12:30 am when I was able to eat, and just had fun hanging around doin a whole lot of nothing. This morning we came back to my apartment and I cooked bacon, eggs, biscuits, and whipped up smoothies for us for breakfast.
What is my point to all of this?
Though I was wanting to be a bum and not do anything last night, I decided against that in the end and went out. And though we didn't really do much of anything but laugh and goof off and dance and sing and talk about randomness, I had a wonderful night and morning with them.
Recently, I've been reminding myself that I need to start cherishing life and my friends and my personal happiness more often. You really never know when your life could end or if today may be your last day on this earth. It's really interesting to think about.
So my advice to you is this:
This weekend, go out and hang out with friends, just because. Even if you don't have big plans, just be with them, soak up their love for you, and enjoy your time with them!
Friends are what make my world go round and I don't know what I would do without them. It's been real hard being at Ole Miss without my girls and my favorite boy here, but I have worked through it and luckily I have the best friends in the WORLD that make effort to come visit me as often as possible.
So make time for a friend or friends this weekend, whether you are busy or not. Ones that you have or even haven't talked to in a long time but have had it on your heart to talk to them. If you do this, let me know how you felt afterwards :) I hope it is as good as I do right now after a wonderful lazy and adventurous weekend of pottery, Yaya's, Black Swan, cooking, and relaxing with my Jay Hart, and a chilled out night of tea, Wal Mart, brownies & nachos, and breakfast with Christian and Kelly.
To all of my friends or loved ones that have impacted my life in some way: I love you so much. Never forget that you have such an incredible impact on my life in more ways than you will ever know.
So that is that.
If I die today, I would want you to know these things.
xo, Jell.
